Kevin Defayette has devoted his entire 30-year career to improving the lives of seniors, children and families in need.
As Executive Director of Waterstone at the Circle, Kevin is responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring our residents and their families are treated to every luxury, service and opportunity that our premier senior living community in Boston is known for. Kevin listens to and appreciates what active seniors desire – and expect – for a rewarding, carefree life. His dynamic leadership inspires our team to go above and beyond to deliver exceptional experiences for our residents every day.
Kevin is an experienced case manager, clinical coordinator and program manager who previously served as State Director of Residential Resources of the Empire State, Inc. and Executive Director and CEO of an independent living community in upstate New York. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Associate of Science in Individual Studies from SUNY Plattsburgh and SUNY Canton, respectively.
Assistant Executive Director
Scott brings over 12 years of experience in the senior living industry, with a background as a Life Enrichment Director and Director of Business Administration, including for Waterstone at the Circle. With the skills he has acquired over the years, Scott works alongside Executive Director Jake Quigley to oversee the daily operations of the community.
He is dedicated to supporting the entire Waterstone at the Circle team in providing outstanding hospitality and service to all residents. He also takes great pride in putting team members in positions where they can be successful and experience personal and professional growth. His leadership and passion for helping others is evident in everything he does.
Scott greatly enjoys the personal interactions and relationships that he has fostered since joining Waterstone at the Circle and looks forward to building connections with new residents and the greater community.
Michael Murphy brings significant experience to the role of Senior Advisor, having served in similar positions including Director of Community Relations and Director of Sales and Marketing at various senior living and healthcare communities.
Michael has spent much of his career educating families and seniors in the variety of senior living solutions available, helping them to make informed decisions that best suit their needs and preferences.
With that expertise as his foundation, he is an ideal resource for families. Through meaningful conversations and building relationships, Michael helps them discover how the lifestyle, culture and services offered by Waterstone at the Circle can lead to a carefree, fulfilling life. He finds his role at Waterstone greatly rewarding and enjoys making the transition to senior living a stress-free, positive one for all those involved.
Michael earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a Minor in Spanish from the University of Connecticut.
Senior Dining Service Director/Executive Chef
Jason King, our Senior Dining Services Director and Executive Chef has been formally trained under several James Beard award winners at two renowned Boston restaurants – Abe & Louie’s and The Tuscan Grill – prior to joining the team at Waterstone at the Circle.
Jason says his love of food developed while cooking with his family, which he has carried over to Waterstone at the Circle. Each day he prepares menus, incorporates residents’ feedback, cooks and uses his talents to make dining a pleasure at our community.
He enjoys creating and preparing food for our residents and team, and often feels as though he is cooking for family. He states that one of his greatest rewards is when someone tells him how much they truly enjoy something he and his team have prepared.
