Artist Showcase | Refreshments Provided

Join us in the Waterstone Gallery for the return of Rene Soto’s work. It has been 3 years since Rene was last featured at the Waterstone Gallery. We are excited to showcase INNERVERSE: Echoes from the Painted Mind.

This collection is an immersive visual journey that blends bodypainting, photography, and AI-generated environments to explore the space where the human form meets imagined dimensions.

Each piece in this collection captures a moment of transformation — the body as canvas, the mind as muse, and technology as portal. Through the fusion of painted skin and digital dreamscapes, Echoes from the Painted Mind invites viewers to see beyond the visible, to feel the internal made external, and to imagine what lies just beyond the edge of perception.

By merging the tactile intimacy of body art with surreal AI-crafted worlds, this exhibition challenges the boundaries of identity, space, and creativity. The result is a gallery of echoes — reflections of emotion, memory, and possibility — rendered in a language both ancient and futuristic.

Step inside. Tune in. Let the painted mind speak.

About Rene Soto

Born in 1986, in La Libertad Peten, Guatemala, Rene left his home country in 2011 to pursue a career as an artist, having worked as a Physical Education instructor up to that point.

Since his arrival to the United States, Rene has been making art that reflects the life he left behind and also shows the richness that the Latin community brings to the United States, trough art, music, poetry, culinary art etc. He also draws inspiration from universal truths and commonalities that cannot be communicated in any other way than through his paintings.

Currently, Rene Soto lives between Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport where he has established himself as a practicing professional artist, growing a roster of over twenty exhibitions.

Acrylic on canvas his favorite medium, but also he works with oils, collages, painting with your hands, body painting, murals, sculptures, digital art and music. Rene has opened the door for other Guatemalan artists in the Stamford area through the citywide project “Guatemala Everywhere.” He is an active volunteer and donor of local nonprofit organizations, and teaches private classes with kids and adults.
