About the Purple Flag

Purple Flag for Dementia Care is a program created to enhance the quality of services provided to seniors living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. It is a collaboration between the Institute for Senior Living Education (ISLE) and the Connecticut Assisted Living Association (CALA).

To become accredited, communities must demonstrate the highest standards in service through conformance to 60 best practices across 10 content areas, and extensive training for the care of individuals living with dementia. These standards make up a quality framework that is essential to providing the type of care and lifestyle that makes a positive impact on the lives of those with memory loss.

The Purple Flag for Dementia Care accreditation inspires an environment of continual improvement for team members at the community. It provides communities with practical, data-driven tools to help them strengthen performance and remain consistent in providing the highest quality of memory care services.

Commitment to Excellence

This Purple Flag for Dementia Care accreditation illustrates Bridges® by EPOCH’s ongoing commitment to providing excellence in memory care through a person-centered, collaborative approach – delivered within a safe, functional, and respectful environment. Families benefit from the added confidence that comes from knowing they are in good hands with an organization and team dedicated to delivering an exceptional memory care experience for residents living with dementia.

Currently, our Bridges® by EPOCH at Norwalk, Bridges® by EPOCH at Trumbull, and Bridges® at Waterstone on High Ridge communities are Purple Flag accredited. We look to expand the accreditation to all Bridges® by EPOCH locations beyond Connecticut soon.
